GUIDED FISHING TRIPS with OUR BOAT CAPTAINS - GUIDES

Our Orvis endorsed guides are the best in the area.  They will provide you with an exciting fly-fishing or light spin tackle opportunity in many local waters.  Included in the rates are the use of Orvis fly fishing equipment or high quality, light spinning tackle.  Most of the season you'll be fishing for striped bass (stripers) and bluefish.  But, as the season progresses, you may have some opportunities at false albacore (albies) or even bonita.

If you prefer fishing from a boat, we have boat captains/guides who can take you out of Chatham, Harwich, and many other locales.  They typically provide a flats fishing boat for one or two anglers.  It is capable of navigating the shallow Monomoy and South Beach flats but durable enough to bring you to a bit deeper waters if this is where the fish are on any given day.  A few larger boats are also available if you need to put a group of 4, 5, or 6 together for a specific trip.

Our 2006 Boat Captains - Guides:

DAVE RUDDOCK

Captain Dave Ruddock
Captain Dave starts this season with his 21 foot Parker.  He's got it geared up for flats fishing and more. Dave's a wonderful guide who knows the water, where the fish are, and most of all is fun to be with!  A Chatham native, he's spent a lifetime on the water!Seen here with his grandson and a nice striper, Dave is a patient guide who works well with all ages.

DAVE STEEVES

Captain Dave Steeves
Dave is a true professional flats guide fishing a Maverick flats boat around Monomoy Island, South Beach and the Outer-Cape beaches.  Dave spent three years teaching in the ORVIS saltwater fly fishing school and his knowledge of fishing is extensive.  He has guided to 2 Striped Bass World Records on the Fly and specializes in sight-fishing the flats.

GREG WEISEL

Captain Greg Wiesel
One of our newest and likable captains! Greg fishes out of Oyster River, Chatham s short distance from the Monomoy flats or to the rips off shore.  Fishing either a 19 foot Carolina skiff or a 27 foot custom sportsfisherman, Greg will take you to the action.  Ask him to pull a lobster pot or two! His lobstering skills are legend.

MIKE ANDOLINA

Captain Mike Andolina
Mike has taught in our ORVIS Saltwater Fly Fishing School for a number of years.  His teaching resume includes a PHD.  But, on the water you'll find that he mixes his educational abilities with a great sense of humor and a thorough knowledge of our fishery.  Mike has traveled the world and is shown here with a nice catch in Costa Rica.  A Cape Cod native, he'll help you catch those stripers and blues too!

JEFF WALTHER

Captain Jeff Walther

Jeff is a very knowledgeable and loves nothing more than fishing the waters off Chatham. He fishes from a Jone's Brothers 20 foot skiff, his office, and loves the rips! Jeff is one of our Outermost Harbor guids and has much experience having grown up here!  When the bluefins are in, Jeff loves to chase them with fly rods or spinning tackle.  Ask him how many he got in 2005

TONY BISKI

Captain Tony Biski
Tony (the big guy) Biski has been an ORVIS endorsed guide longer than we've been here! His expertise is fishing the flats from his well equipped flats boat and sight casting to cruising bass! Tony brings you by boat to the most gorgeous flats in the east where you wade and fish for hours. Tony will always keep you in the game.

BOB LUCE

Captain Bob Luce
"Captain Bob" has over thirty years of chartering experience behind him!  He fishes the waters around Chatham to Nantucket in a 31 foot Duffy.  Bob has guided to four World Records and caught a 71 pound bass of his own, the sixth largest ever caught on rod and reel! Fishing with Bob is rip fishing at it's best, 4 to 6 anglers. Here shown with Marcia who landed this trophy, on a fly rod!

WILL RAYE

Captain Will Raye
Will is one of our senior guides, although you couldn't tell by looking at him.  Still young at heart, he's been guiding with us for several years!  He loves fishing, has a wonderful pleasant manner, and is great to spend a day on the flats with.  When not guiding on his Hewes flats boat, he can be seen fishiing with his dad and family.
